WHAT MEDIUMS AND MATERIALS DO YOU WORK WITH?

Our portfolio consists of art created in interior and exterior murals, water-jet and laser-cut steel and aluminum, and custom printed outdoor fabric. We are currently developing an earthen sculpting material, designing custom CNC’d stamps, and experimenting with other media for upcoming installations. We love to work with new materials and have built up a roster of trusted fabricators throughout CA that can handle craziest ideas we come up with.

HOW DO YOU PRICE A PROJECT?

We typically start with a preliminary estimate based on scale, material, and schedule to begin the conversation. If there is an allocated art budget, that is important to know from the start. Once we establish the details of the project, including the complexity of the installation, site access and conditions, and the number of parties involved, we can create a detailed scope and provide a final budget. We do our best to accommodate all interesting and creative projects.

HOW LONG DOES THE PROCESS TAKE?

The first step is to have an open conversation. We want to know most importantly: how do you want the space to feel? Once we are on a project, we study the space - the history, the flora, the community, the architecture and landscaping, the colors and forms, its assets and challenges, how the space will be used, and how the artwork will be experienced. Then we create sketches, drawings and paintings that we layer digitally to work through an iterative design process. We refine our ideas and present 2-3 design options that reflect the project goals, our research, experience, and creative intuition. The chosen design is then finalized for fabrication.

The timing on a project depends on many factors such as site conditions, permitting, art medium, and design complexity. We have completed artwork in as little as a month, and have worked on projects over the course of 2 years. We have worked on many teams and understand how to be flexible and consider most project's timeline.

HOW SOON SHOULD WE BRING STUDIO TUTTO INTO THE PROJECT PLANNING?

We believe successful artwork integrates with the site. If we are brought onto the project in its early stages, we can develop artwork that relates to the landscape, building materials, lighting, and many other elements. The felt experience of a cohesive, harmonious space, is the advantage of having an early first meeting with us.

WHAT KIND OF ORGANIZATIONS OR PEOPLE HAVE YOU WORKED WITH?

All kinds, and each time we learn about a new world. We've worked with architects, cities, neighborhood associations, landscape architects, developers, creative firms, corporations, tech companies, art consultants, hospitals, engineers, schools, lighting designers, and small businesses.

DO YOU DO RESIDENTIAL WORK? ARE THERE PROJECTS YOU DON'T DO?

We don't reproduce designs that aren't our own.

We don't paint signs or logos.

We've created about 80 art installations together. Three have been special residential projects. Our passion is for public art that meets people in their daily life, however, if the residential project is open and not confined by couch colors or a personal hatred of yellow, we'd love to collaborate!
