Canyon
A 30,000 sq ft installation in printed architectural mesh, celebrating the local landscape.
Our inspiration came directly from the Los Peñasquitos Canyon Preserve, where oak woodlands and chaparral hills reveal subtle layers of texture, color, and movement.
We translated those canyon impressions into a series of hand-painted artworks in the studio—gestural watercolor washes and fast pencil lines to capture the lively spirit of the nearby canyon.
We then transformed these paintings into digital layered artwork printed as multi-story printed mesh panels that wrap the building’s façade. From a distance the structures shimmer with soft color and reflect in the walls of windows, and up close the loose marks bring a sense of the handmade.
